This comfortable spa was built in he 70s, and was rebuilt in 2002. The water contains sodium-hydro-carbonic, thus it is mostly recommended for those who have some kind of motor disease, rheumatism or are after some kind of accident injury and rehabilitation. Inside the complex there are different kind of pools which include thermal pools, swimming pool, a small pool for the children and also an aqua park. Besides these you can play tennis or football on the ground built here.


The first source which mentioned the name of Jászapáti dates back to the 14C, The second part of the name of the settlement “apáti” means “abbacy”, so it seams like there must hade been an abbacy in the early Middle Ages. But according to the first source, it didn’t remain in the 14C.

Before Jazygian (jász) people settled here, the inhabitants of this place were Christians. When the Turks invaded Hungary, this land became almost deserted. In the 17C it became the property of the Teutonic Order. In the 18C after its inhabitants bought back this land, Maria Theresa gave special rights and privileges to Jászapáti, thus it became a small town. During the 19-20C it has lost from its importance. When the first bathing facilities were built, Jászapáti became famous again for its spa

Place of interest

After refreshing your self in the spa, you should take a walk in the town and in its surroundings, because there are some nice and interesting sights around.

To visit some sacred placed, you should take a walk to the Calvarias, which was built in Baroque style, or see the imposing Gothic Catholic Church.

If you are interested in traditional agriculture, and you would like to know more about how peasants lived here in former centuries, you should go to see the Folk Museum or the mansion of the Beöthy family.

Pál Vágó painter was born in Jászapáti. You may see an exhibition about his work in the Pál Vágó Museum. There are also displays here about local history.
