The first source which mentioned the name of the Jászárokszállás, dates back to the 13C. this was the time when Béla IV. settled the Jazygian people here. Although the village became almost deserted, when the Turks invaded Hungary in the 16C, after, it became inhabited again and flourished in the 17C. Although it was the property of the Teutonic Order, its rich inhabitants bought this land from the Order, and became the leaders of Jászárokszállás. In the 18C it became an oppidium, which means a small town with some privileges.

In the 19-20C the settlement slowly developed. Small factories were built and from the 70s more and more tourist came here to visit the town and its small spa.
